After securing its Series A funding round in 2021, Scratchpad needed more structured and detailed financial reporting to appease investors. Despite having no formal finance background, Diane Garcia, Head of Operations and Customer Success, stepped in to fill this crucial gap.
Scratchpad runs both product-led growth (PLG) and sales-led motions, each with its own approach to tracking metrics and pulling from different data sources. PLG required Diane to track product conversions, usage metrics, and self-service purchases via Stripe. The sales-led motion, on the other hand, relied on pipeline stages, deal cycles, and contract values pulled from Salesforce.
Condensing these metrics into investor-ready reports consumed weeks of Diane’s time.
