Revenue type lets you select between Contracted ARR and Live ARR. "Contracted ARR" counts the beginning of a contract as the "Close Date", or the date that sales closes a deal. "Live ARR" counts the beginning of a contract from the "Start Date", the first day services are rendered under the contract.
There is sometimes a substantial gap between Close Date and Start Date, particularly if a software product requires a long implementation. Reporting Contracted ARR (cARR) can help show sales progress even if the deals haven't officially started.
